Website Environments

CMS development and hosting have been accomplished using a number of environments hosted by Vardot. Below is a table outlining all of the environments used during development and testing of the website, along with a description of their purpose.

Development:

Developers write and test code in the development environment. It contains debugging tools and may not mimic the production setup.

Staging Site:

This is a demo environment to stage content edits and review new features before launching them to the public site.

Production:

This is the final live version of the website where all content edits should take place. This server is optimized for performance and the site is indexed by the search engines.
